Emily Magee, Brede Kauffman Pedersen, Thane Dailey, Magdalena Kongestøl, Maria Lillibø e Ester Mari Theisen foram nossos visitantes da semana no Instituto Histórico de Pitangui.

A maioria deles vieram da Noruega, outros dos Estados Unidos da América. O objetivo da visita, assim como a maioria das visitas guiadas que realizamos, é apresentar nossa cidade, histórias e tradições elucidando a importância de Pitangui como a terra matter do centro-oeste mineiro.

Além disso, visitamos pontos turísticos do centro histórico da cidade como a Igreja de São Francisco de Assis e o imponente casarão de Maria Tangará.

Os turistas ficaram impressionados com nossa riqueza bibliográfica e mitos locais, além de terem tido a oportunidade de acessar nosso acervo, disponível a todos, eles também compartilharam experiências pessoais e suas impressões sobre o Brasil e outros estados que visitaram antes de Minas Gerais, como o Amazonas.

Inclusive, dia 30 de abril, terça-feira, eles estarão realizando uma apresentação musical gospel na Praça Benedito Valadares (Praça do Jardim), ao lado do Museu. Todos eles fazem parte de um grupo religioso ligado a JOCUM (Jovens Com Uma Missão) e estão visitando vários estados com o objetivo de levar estudos bíblicos e teológicos.

Foi uma experiência incrível recebê-los. Esperamos que voltem mais vezes.

Emily Magee, Brede Kauffman Pedersen, Thane Dailey, Magdalena Kongestøl, Maria Lillibø and Ester Mari Theisen were our visitors of the week at the Instituto Histórico de Pitangui.

Most of them came from Norway, others from the United States of America. The objective of the visit, as well as most of the guided tours we carry out, is to present our city, stories and traditions, elucidating the importance of Pitangui as the main land of the center-west of Minas Gerais.

In addition, we visited tourist attractions in the historic center of the city, such as the Church of São Francisco de Assis and the imposing mansion of Maria Tangará.

Tourists were impressed by our rich bibliography and local myths, in addition to having the opportunity to access our collection, available to everyone, they also shared personal experiences and their impressions about Brazil and other states they visited before Minas Gerais, such as Amazon.

In fact, on April 30th, Tuesday, they will be performing a gospel musical performance at Praça Benedito Valadares (Praça do Jardim), next to the Museum. They are all part of a religious group linked to YWAM (Young People With A Mission) and are visiting several states with the aim of carrying out biblical and theological studies.

It was an incredible experience to welcome them. We hope you come back more often.
